Corkbuzz Wine Studio has confirmed it will open a location in Charlotte’s SouthPark area this summer.

Plans call for a roughly 2,000-square-foot wine bar and restaurant, plus an outdoor patio, in Sharon Square.

That mixed-use development is located at Sharon and Fairview roads. It is being co-developed by Pappas Properties and Allen Tate Co.

“Charlotte is an exciting and evolving food destination, and we look forward to building on this energy with Corkbuzz,” says Laura Maniec, co-founder.

Maniec, a master sommelier, created Corkbuzz with Frank Vafier. The first location opened in New York City’s Union Square in 2011.

The wine and dining concept caters to both expert and novice wine enthusiasts, with wine education and ingredient-driven menus.

Corkbuzz will be the first of several signature restaurants and retailers that will be announced for Sharon Square over the next few months.
